ID : tm3445715428 Development of Pineapple Core Powder Pineapple cores were collected at the Pineapple Cannery of Malaysia and Lee Pineapple Industry. The cores were placed in 2000 ppm SO2 solution to prevent spoilage. The cores were immediately washed upon reaching the lab and blanched for 2 minutes. They were then passed through a communiting machine. After grinding, the extra water was pressed out and the remaining materials were spread thinly on stainless steel drying trays. Drying was done in an electric dehydrator at 600C for 8-10 hours or until moisture content reached about 5%. After drying the dried products were passed trought a hammer mill and sieved to the power. The powder was packed in aluminium laminated film for further use. Chemical analysis of the powder was carried. The was tested on dehydrated fruit and bakery products. |

ID : tm3445915430 Ternakan Ikan Siakap Air Tawar Di Belakang Rumah (Konsep Bumi Hijau) Sistem ternakan yang digunakan adalah tangki gentian kaca atau polyethylene berserta dengan sistem penapisan dan pam air. Benih ikan siakap (sekurang-kurangnya 4 inci digunakan, ditebar (kadar 50- 75 ekor dalam 1 tan air). Pemberian makanan dilakukan sekurangkurangnya 2 kali sehari (pagi dan petang) sehingga ikan kenyang. Pertukaran air perlu dilakukan apabila parameter air merosot (diluar julat optimum untuk ternakan) dan bila diperhatikan ikan tidak lagi galak memakan makanan. Air perlu ditukar 90 peratus selepas 2 minggu digunakan. Air yang digunakan hendaklah dipastikan bebas daripada klorin. Ternakan ikan siakap ini mengambil masa 5-7 bulan sebelum ia mencapai berat purata 500 g dan bersedia untuk di tuai. Tangki ternakan hendaklah ditutup dengan net orkid jika tangki tersebut diletakkan ditempat terbuka. Ini bertujuan bagi mengelak ikan mengalami tekanan jika suhu air meningkat. |

ID : tm3439515366 Program Pembangunan Produk Herba (PPH) Program Pembangunan Produk Herba (PPH) telah ditubuhkan pada 2010 dan mempunyai 3 makmal yang menjalankan penyelidikan dan pembangunan berkaitan tumbuhan ubatan dan beraroma iaitu; Makmal Teknologi Minyak Pati (TMP), Makmal Formulasi Produk (FP) dan Makmal Kawalan Kualiti (NPQC). Ketiga-tiga makmal ini merupakan makmal di bawah status BioNexus Partnership. Antara aktiviti penyelidikan yang dijalankan di TMP adalah penyulingan minyak pati dan pengekstrakan tumbuhan (pelarut dan CO2), analisis kimia menggunakan GC, GCMS dan HS-SPME. Manakala FP pula bertanggungjawab memformulasi produk prototaip berasaskan herba dan NPQC menjalankan ujian kawalan kualiti bagi memastikan aspek keselamatan dalam penghasilan produk herba. Pada 2012, NPQC telah diakreditasikan sebagai makmal kawalan kualiti di bawah piawaian MS ISO/IEC 17025 oleh Jabatan Standard Malaysia (DSM). Hasil penyelidikan PPH telah memenangi pelbahai anugerah di peringkat kebangsaan dan antarabangsa. |

Recycling in mill for enegy generation is far beyond the reach of small capacity mills. A cost effective and enviromentally safe procedure for reutilization of these waste was developed. Organic soil is produces through biological, chemical and physical degradation processes of PMS prior mixed with organic fibres and naturally occuring microbes. The end product can be used as potting media, organic fertilizer or amelioration of infertile and poor drained soils. |

They can be obtained from various aquilaria species such as A. Malaccensis,A.Hirta and A. Crassna. This viscous oil is called as pure agarwood essential oil (100% of extracted material)and pureness is one of key aspect taken into consideration for its price. The blending of a small amount of this precious agarwood oil with other essential oils such as Geranium,Sandalwood, Gurjum Balsam, Jasmine and Ylang Ylang can give rich, complex and pleasant oils. Agarwood oil acts as a base note to fix the perfume odour comprising of middle and top notes. Currently, there is no scientific technique used to differentiate pure and mixture agarwood oils and usually, it is based on traders and buyers agreement that may leads to inconsistencies. The present invention provides a method for classifying the fragrance quality of agarwood oils according to its odour quality into two separate groups pure and mixture using electronic nose coupled with a modified k-th nearest neighbour k-fold cross validation technique and substantial information from chemical constituent analysis using GCMS. ID : tm3440815379 GAHARU SENSE: INTELLIGENT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM FOR AGARWOOD Agarwood(gaharu) is a fragrant wood usually derived from the diseased timber of the genus Aguilaria (Thymelaecease). It is used widely as perfumelry ingredient and for medication purposes. Agarwood is often graded by the traders themselves as A,B, C, or D based on the quality of the scent, resin formation and physical properties. At the moment, there are no apparent international classification standards for agarwood or its products in the consumer market. The system consists of integrated semi-automated system which comprises of man machine interface (MMI), heating system, e-nose system, and ANN identification system. This user friendly system is design such that it is easy to run an experiment systematically and hence it helps minimizing the random error. The system is able to locate 10 sample data at a time. Hence, it is capable of inreasing the effciently of data collection. The intelligent part of the system is the e-nose system with ANN was capable of generating characterized smell prints to differetiate Agarwood qualities. |
