This invention relates to in-field shredding of oil palm tree trunks into loose fibrous strands (Vascular bundles) or small clumps of oil palm biomass, and more particularly to a single mobile unit incorporating an improved system for shredding process and collecting system with optimum efficiency. Oil palm tree trunk shredders have been developed for felling of oil palm trees produce loose fibrous materials, which is called biomass. The biomass produced from oil palm trunk can be utilized in pulp and paper industry to make paper, particleboard and fiberboard, used in making cement composite, animal feed, fertilizer, thermal generation, chemical extraction, glucose production and etc.

In 2007, SPPT successfully built its own manufacturing plant to process Oil Palm Biomass termed as emptied fruit bunch (EFB) and converts it to pulp named as PALMOR PULP. The Palmor is derived from Originated Pulp.
Malaysia currently disposes approximately 15 million Metric Ton (MT) of EFB anually either through direct burning, mulching or landfill at the plantation area. With this PALMOR PULP plant, SPPT is able to contribute on the waste management area and at the same time offers a renewable and sustainable non-wood pulp to the pulp, paper, and related industries. With high awareness on environmental issues on a global scale, we strongly believe this EFB pulp is one of the solutions for a greener world.
