Inovasi penggunaan pati minyak kayu manis komersil dalam diet ikan kerapu selama 2 minggu di peringkat hatceri merupakan satu usaha meningkatkan daya tahan ikan terhadap semua serangan penyakit sebelum dipindahkan ke sangkar. Aplikasi pati minyak kayu manis komersil didapati dapat mengurangkan sebanyak 70% tanda-tanda klinikal yang biasa dikesan pada bulan pertama kemasukan benih dalam sangkar. Begitu
juga dengan pengurangan 20% jangkitan parasit lintah laut pada benih ikan kerapu dalam sangkar pada minggu 4. Inovasi ini mudah digunakan dan diapplikasi pada 2 minggu pertama sebelum benih ikan kerapu dimasukkan ke sangkar. Inovasi ini masih dalam peringkat penambahbaikan dari segi kaedah penyimpanan di lokasi sangkar.
