E-Merit is a web-based information system that is developed to help Malaysian secondary schools to manage discipline problems among their students more effectively in order to increase the academic performance and extra-curricular to the greater heights. As widely talked about in electronic and printed media, students??? misconduct problems at the present level occurred due to lack of awareness on the importance of education for improving their quality of life and lack of parental control by relying 100% school commitment to educate their children. Notification via e-mail and short messaging system will be automatically received when their children are involved in wrongdoing activities. Student disciplinary cases are not merely measured but also the level of academic achievement and extra-curricular activities whether excellent, good, satisfactory or fail. The benefits of the system included its ability to increase the efficiency of managing students??? electronic records, reduce the burden of teachers??? workload as well as to be the best tool in assisting the detection and prevention of discipline problems. Therefore, E-Merit is expected to be commercialised as the best platform not only among schools but also the public and private institutions of higher learning to excel its corporate image through the development of students??? intellectual capital aligned with the national philosophy of education.

MathZzle Board Game

The present invention relates to a board game that teaches mathematics. The idea of MathZzle is to use tiles imprinted with both numerals (digits 0 to 9 and fractions 1/4, 1/2, 3/4) and symbols (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, square roor, cubic root, square, cube, factorial, Sin, Cosines and Tangent) which challenges individuals to construct number sentences, equation, compound equations and to consider multiple abstract possibilities. This game can be played by 2 to 4 players and there are 3 levels of difficulty namely beginners, intermediate and advanced. These levels are based on the types of math symbols provided. Players have to get very creative with quick thinking, at times while playing MathZzle in order to keep the game going. Each player is given a time limit of 15 minutes for the duration of the whole game (This time limit is subject to change before the beginning of each game) and it lasts for a maximum of one hour. We believe that there is a huge potential of commercializing this new board game for public at large, from children to adults.

Exploring The Potential of E-Learning for The Teaching of Line Drawing Subject

The learning model adopted a simple and established technology, with ease of access being the primary consideration. The study was successful in building an adequate learning environmental to enhance skills by using the IT technology. Overall the study was able to conclude that, using the selected learning models and students needs, the e-learning is an effective medium for delivering 'line drawing' subject to students. There were difficulties encountered both in finding students who wished to learn through this medium and engaging them in an effective program of learning.

"STEM Roll-A-Dice" merupakan inovasi gamifikasi PdPc yang menerapkan komponen-komponen pendidikan Sains, Teknologi, Kejuruteraan dan Matematik (STEM). Matlamat pembinaan permainan ini adalah untuk untuk menyemai minat pelajar terhadap subjek-subjek STEM serta meningkatkan penglibatan mereka dalam menceburi bidang-bidang kerjaya STEM. Berkonsepkan kerangka papan permainan, inovasi ini berbeza daripada papan permainan konvensional kerana mengintegrasikan teknologi Realiti Berparanta ataupun lebih dikenali Augmented Reality (AR). Papan permainan menampilkan 5 bidang kerjaya berkaitan STEM iaitu pendidikan, pertanian, industri, robotik dan perubatan. Keseluruhannya, papan permainan ini mengandungi sebanyak 250 soalan berkaitan pendidikan STEM yang terpapar secara rawak. Tinjauan pasaran mendapati prototaip STEM Roll-A-Dice berupaya menarik minat mereka untuk mengetahui lebih lanjut mengenai pendidikan STEM. Selain itu, testimonial pengguna menunjukkan animasi 3D melalui teknologi AR serta paparan papan permainan sangat mengujakan mereka. Mereka merasakan inovasi ini sesuai dijalankan oleh guru-guru atau pendidik yang ingin mengimplementasi PdPc abad ke-21 atau Blended Learning. Buat masa ini, aplikasi yang dimuat naik di Google Play mengandungi soalan-soalan dalam Bahasa Melayu. Walau bagaimanapun, proses terjemahan kepada Bahasa Inggeris dan Bahasa Arab sedang dijalankan bagi memenuhi permintaan antarabangsa. Adalah menjadi harapan penyelidik agar inovasi ini digunakan oleh semua lapisan masyarakat bagi mendedahkan mereka terhadap pendidikan STEM.
