Low cost,high efficiency, minimization of chemical and biological sludge,regeneration of biosorbent and possibility of metal recovery. Though conventional treatments to remove heavy metals from wastewater were mostly based on precipitation, evaporation and adsorption on ion exchange resins, these are inefficient or expensive especially when the concentration of heavy metal ions is low. Because of its excellent properties, PS-SORB could adsorb heavy metals from industrial wastewater even at low concentration.PS-SORB was produced using abundant source of white rot macro-fungi through economical techniques. |
