This study provides empirical evidences on the long memory property of equity returns and volatility of an emerging equity market with reliable estimation models, which is currently lacking, particularly for emerging markets. |

A self-constructed instrument was deployed to 12 states in West Malaysia on 1290 respondents. The findings indicated that the hypothesized model has to be re-specified.
