Grass cutting of a large field requires at least two cutting stages by skilled operator to ensure good finishing. On the other hand, the uncertainty of sunny and rainy weather often being the major obstacles in getting these fields completed on time.

According to survey and study, to completely cut a field area of 10,000 square meter in good weather condition by an experienced operator using 4 feet lawn cutter will easily require 3 to 4 hours.

Shin Guard From Coconut Endorcarp

The main typical shin guard components are the shell and foam liner. Back to basic, the use of foam at the guard is to absorb outer energy while the shell is to resist any force such as impact from hurting the user. Nowadays however, the manufacturing of the product needs raw
material that meet the specification such as stiff, safe to use, and easy to fabricate. In this project, thermoset; epoxy resin with hardener is used as matrix with Coconut Endorcarps Powder (CE-P) as it additive and thermoplastic; polycarbonates as matrix with Coconut Endorcarps
Ashes (CE-A) is used to be studied so that a final product based on this material can be fabricated. Full scale prototype was fabricated based on the matrix evaluation technique due to the different PMC. As for this, prototype built was based on thermoset with CE-P. From the test have been done, (for selected thermoset with CE-P), reading show as 77.67 and 77.83 value for hardness, 0.19731
kN average break force and 1.77 Joule to resist before failure. As to compare with thermoplastic with CE-A, the reading is much ambiguous as follow 77.33 and 79.33 for hardness value, 0.05506 kN average break force for bending test and 0.06 Joule to resist before failure.
With respect to research have been done, It founds that this PMC was not much adequate to withstand a substantial blow to the leg from non-ballistic weapons or flying debris. This is based on the comparative table gained from standard from European Parliament.

Rich Athletics Track

The main athletics track are the SBR, EPDM granules and Polyurethane. Nowadays, application of manufacturing product need a material
that can give the best characteristic such as getting on hardy, strong, safe and easy to manufacture. In this project, silicone rubber resins
from elastomer polymer ware used as the matrix materials and the natural fibers as the reinforcement. Types of natural fibers that have
been selected are rice husk fibers. The matrix materials are usually functioning to attach the reinforcement each other. The rice husk is
grinded for 1 mm. From testing on the composite material, it shows value of hardness, impact strength, and Young modulus for tensile test
and compression test is 17.9, 0.36 J/mm2, 40.94 kPa, with increasing 98.89 percent, 176.9 percent, 1055.84 percent and 157.83 percent compared to silicone rubber without reinforcement, respectively. For friction test, the purpose composites athletics track getting average
value of 70. This average value is over from IAAF standard requirement for >47 of friction value. Overall for this project, although the purpose composites is under researching, the result show the composite be able to emulate with the main athletics track component and
it can be made and used in Malaysia.

This type of design has the advantages of operating 24 hours interruptible at fluctuating water flow rate as it uses aerodynamic shaped buckets/blade to reduce air resistance while at the same time turn the wheel using dual action principles I.E. both water self weight (gravity effect) and water jet momentum effects.

this invention is about a new innovative ceiling panel to replace current material, while improve from quality, performance and wide application. Kenaf Fiber Plate

The purpose of this project was to study and test a new composite material for use in manufacturing product. The composite was composed of kenaf fibers as reinforcement for polYester resin thermoset polymer. Long bast kenaf fibers were used and treated using different concentration and immerged time of NaOH. The effects obtained after the modification have been analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).The fibers were combined with polYester resin and using vacuum infusion method to form natural fiber composites. Tensile, flexural and Izod impact properties were determined according to ASTM standards. Mechanical properties were presented increase with the increasing of NaOH concentration. The composites with concentration 6% NaOH and immerged 12 hours performed the highest value of tensile properties. However, the flexural strength shows the highest value at 9% NaOH. Kenaf fibers have a potential as a new alternative in wood-based product industry.

Embedded Stiffness Control for Pneumatic System

This paper presents model and controller design applications to pneumatic actuator embedded system. Two model strategies of position and force are proposed to realize compliance control for stiffness characteristic. Model of the pneumatic actuator system (transfer function) is obtained from system identification (SI) method. Next, combination of predictive functional control with observer (PFC-O) design is selected as a new control strategy for pneumatic system. Performance assessment of the controller is performed in MATLAB and validated through real-time experiments using national instrument (NI) devices and programmable system on chip (PSoC) microcontroller. Result shows that the new controller is adapted to the system and able to successfully control both simulation and real-time experiments.

Deco Helmet

The main helmet components are the shell and foam liner. Basically, the function of foam is to absorb impact energy, while the function of the shell is to resist penetration of any external object to the head and resulting in direct skull damage. Nowadays, application of manufacturing product need a material that can give the best characteristic such as strong, safe, and easy to manufacture. The epoxy resins from thermoset polymer were used as the matrix materials and the natural fibers as the reinforcement. Types of natural fibers that have been selected are coconut fibers. Mechanical testing is done on this composite material to determine the performance when reinforce with coconut fibers in random type is produced. The half helmet prototype will produced to implement penetration test. Complete helmet prototype will produced. From testing on the composite material, it shows value of hardness, impact strength and Young modulus is 80.45,9.95 J/mm2 and 8.773 MPa with increasing 5.09 percent, 4.96 percent and 4.56 percent compared to epoxy without reinforcement,respectively. For Quasi-static penetration test, testing on prototype has been done for 1 prototype of 100 percent epoxy resin, 1 prototype composite and 1 current helmet shell from ABS material. The proposed composite has high value of force 4.375 kN need to penetrate the helmet shell at 20 mm, 3.05 kN for ABS (and PC) prototypes and 4.05 kN for 100 percent epoxy. The dynamic penetration test show that the prototypes can resistance from steel conical spike with stiker from touch head area at high 1250 mm and SIRIM high requirement is 2000 mm. This value have differential as many as 750 mm or 37.5 percent less than SIRIM requirement based on MS 1:1996. Although,this prototype not meet the SIRIM requirement but its is meet for third country requirement.

Most ballistic products use synthetic material such as Kevlar for reinforcement. As Kevlar is petroleum based, its cost is very much dependent
on world market price. It is envisaged that natural materials to replace Kevlar can contribute to the drop in cost of ballistic products. Waste
bio-organic materials as a filler in matrix materials to be made into hybrid composites have emerged as an alternative. One such material is coconut fiber in the form of chopped strand mat to be used as a filler, sandwiched between Kevlar and woven roving fiber glass. ABS resin
from thermoplastic polymer was used as the matrix material. By using hydraulic hot press, the hybrid plastic composite is produced in panels with size 10 x 12 inches and thickness range between 14 to 16 millimeters with controlled weight not more than 1.5 kilograms. The higher filler in the composite reached 45.67 %wt. The higher value for tensile force, hardness and pendulum impact test are 24.83 kN, 81.2 and 210.783 Joule respectively, with specimens shown pullout, peel off, delamination and slip condition on failure specimens. The ballistic test is NIJ
standard-0101.04 to meet Type one requirement. However, the panel tested using projectile 9 mm FMJ and using weapon of 9 mm SMG Sterling Gun for level IIA. The ballistic test show, all the hybrid composite panels behave different from ceramic panel. The raw material cost for the panel is very depended and influenced by number of Kevlar layer in the composite.

Conventional Method For Shell Helmet Mold

Shell helmet manufacturing industry using Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) and Polycarbonate (PC) is so popular for basic usage by using injection molding method in its production. ABS and PC are a synthetic material produced through chemical reactions which are needed to go through heating and high pressurizing to use them. Material, design and development technique towards shell helmet manufacturing still hasnt changed along the century and it still depends on synthetic material to produce it. From theses research and development of motorcycle helmet shell using waste material such as coconut fibers. He used molding material from plaster of paris (POP) but many problems arise such as unsuitable molding design, too heavy, too sensitive, easily fractured, and unsuitable for the purpose of mass production (industrial purpose). The molding material used can have affect on the quality of the shell helmet produced. If the mould produced has a slight defect, it wills product defection towards the product when removed from the mold. The best mold must poises specialty such of the mold, high quality of mold and easy-handling for the purpose of mass production. The objective of this project is to make mould and to developed shell helmet by hand lay-up method. Besides, this project aims to do further research in order to develop mould from the material that has been discussed by considering major production aspect and developed mould prototype which has own specialization and commercial value. The material that has been used to make a mould is Aluminium 6061 and LM6.
