This research is conducted using exploratory process and adapting the understanding of the Biomimicy processes method which was tested on saga (Adenanthera Pavonina). The process is divided into two, the exploratory on the saga seeds and the application technique in jewellery making. the results show that the seeds have the potential to be used as materials in jewellery making by applying suitable techniques. The findings revealed that the saga seeds are accepted as alternative materials in producing jewellery items and have a great potential in the Malaysian jewellery industry. |

Timber resources from natural forests are becoming scarce and will eventually become insufficient for supplying raw materials for wood-based industries. In view to this situation, a research was conducted to study the potential of wood from the Nangka tree (Artocarpus heterophyllus) for making particleboard start with debarking,cutting,flaking,particle drying,glue mixing and blending, mat forming, hot pressing and testing. Two board densities, i.e., 450kg/m3 and 650kg/m3 were produced using Urea formaldehyde (UF) as a resin. The boards were tested for physical and mechanical properties in accordance to British Standards (BS 310, bs 319 and BS 371). |
