Rice weevil, Sitophilus oryzae is a type of beetle that damage rice. Dry pepper contains capsaicin is known to contain the active components of the spicy powder that drive Sitophilus oryzae from destroying the rice grain. The results found that the use of the tea-bag dried pepper (chilly sachet) reduced 82% of the Sitophilus oryzae population better than the use of naturally dried chillies. |
